I have been running an online business for close on twenty years now, based in Scotland, but operating worldwide.
We have used WordPress for many of these years, from simple blog and brochure websites, to comparison and SaaS front ends using WordPress and REST API’s.
The story behind Changelog Alert
Changelog Alert began life as an internal tool to help Ascend Online Media Limited, mange our growing number of WordPress based websites. As the number of websites grew, so too did the time required to manage the constant WordPress updates required.
Yes, we had internal tools available to manage multiple websites, but that did not resolve all the issues.
We strongly believe in checking the changelogs for plugins, themes and blocks before we update. We want to know what effect these WordPress updates, could have on the functionality and reliability of the websites, before we update our test and staging sites, let alone our live websites.
Opening multiple individual plugin or premium plugin and theme, notification updates to show the changelog, was simply not an efficient use of our time. There had to be a better way.
And so, Changelog Alert came to be. We can now quickly scan our daily or weekly notification emails and see all the consolidated updates, for any of our WordPress websites, saving us valuable time.
